Handbrake Cable Group Orders

Evening all,

Here are all the group order relevant posts from Steve handbrake cable thread. This has been provided to maintain the flow of the original thread whilst we all add our interest here for Rick @Rickmeister to selflessly supply us with what we desire.

I'll build the lists later on this evening. Of note, I'm here just conducting assistance as this is a Rick's and Ian's @in9999 venture. Rick is going to send the order to Ian, who will distribute to everyone here in the UK.

Whilst the registered interest is extracted to build the lists, I'll also try to tidy it up without ruining the flow of this new thread.

Have a great evening/weekend everyone.

Update:
11 cables arrived with me today. The original team will be getting emails this afternoon and I'll get it turned around asap. Thanks for your patience. As soon as possible I'll check back and we can start on group 2

The small batch from Wales seems a good option too.

Gentlemen,

First bundle of cables ready to go. Group 1 will be getting a mail today and the cost per person / cable delivered to the UK will be €63. Obviously if you ordered 2....

That's tracked and insured which is faster. Then the last bit inside the UK could be mail, could be collect etc etc. So that's not bad on an item that originally cost €55.

All the people on list one will get a mail and they will be in the post on Monday 07:00. Hopefully we can do the reimbursement over the weekend.

Evoman's car is off the road because of this cable so his has gone direct and he agreed to do it this way. Hopefully he gets it quicker and is back on the road again.

Happy days!

So, cables and group 2 for next week.

Could I suggest a way forward.
1. I'll contact AT and ask about the stock situation, how many on the shelf.
2. Has anyone contacted Speedy Cables to see if it is an actual option / cost etc? Might be good to know if its a viable option.

A2Steve started this important topic in a thread about repair or fabrication which was separated from this one. In that discussion the relatively inexpensive complete part from AT was spotted making 'buy now while stocks last' sensible. My input there (including post 3 in this thread) was to offer to produce an accurate drawing from a complete part. That could be used to inform a DIY repair or for pricing by a supplier. Alternatively a supplier like Speedy Cables might need no more than a complete part in hand from which to prepare a quote for whatever quantity cannot be obtained new from AT. A point to note is that a manufacturer is unlikely to include the tubing and bracket and so they would need those original parts for the new cables to be completed because one of the cables has terminals swaged-on after being thread through the tube. That would be confirmed in the first discussion with Speedy Cables. (Photos and a link in the other thread will make this clearer). atb

Think this is the reference thread

Would it be more appropriate to tag the discussions on making replacements onto this, or even start a new thread.
And maybe it's just the short link cable we need

Cheers Spike

Hi Tom, very late to this one, but seems like a good idea to have a spare, decent handbrake = essential in Cornwall....please add me to list 6. I guess Rick will get some feedback from AT soon on total stock numbers available...Many thanks to all those helping out.

Morning all,

To keep proceedings simple with regards to obtaining this cable in question from Audi Tradition, it was considered best to separate the Group Order information from this discussions on this thread.

This group order thread has served its purpose fairly well so far and hasn’t disturbed the flow of informations but feel that the recent discussions are a little off topic and could be better placed elsewhere on the a forum.

When posting on this thread please do try to keep it focussed on the group order. Of note once the Lists are satisfied or stock’s are depleted this thread will then be closed/locked to avoid future members trying to order something that is NLA from AT.

Kind regards,

Tom
