Project peperami - (A2Steve)

I've decided that i'm going to go into the garage once the kids go down for bed tonight and i'm not coming back out until the car is in one piece. If that's at 4am tomorrow morning then so be it :)
Cant wait to see this !

That's what I decided on the night that I published the TDI120 thread. I'd been writing it for weeks and simply had to get it done before going abroad for a fortnight. I watched the sun rise from my desk. :)

It'll be totally worth it, Steve. The sense of satisfaction when you wake up and see what you've put together will give you a real sense of achievement. Let's hope it's sunny on Saturday for the photoshoot.

It's very brown, with a hint of blue. Reminds me of the Aston DB11 that Clarkson drove around Italy last year in The Grand Tour.

The colour looks fantastic Steve, when (if!) you get some sun in Wales I imagine the tones will look very different to an overcast day?

Looking great and the colour is different to what I expected seeing it in the flesh.

I was worried that it might might be too similar to castle red, but it looks really unique.

well done.

Great news on the intercooler. Are you planning on putting some shuttering around those flexi pipe ends to guide the air a bit more? Only part I'm unsure of now is that exhaust - you'll soon get a black stripe up your brown behind!!

With the bumper fitted they are forced inwards so are pointing directly at the top of the intercooler.

The ducts then run down and out of the foglight holes. Should hopefully be a good flow of air especially at speed.

It's hard for me to tell whether it has increased the power because i'm comparing it to a blown intercooler but basically the car had too much power for the chassis before and has too much power now :)

An excellent and low cost solution then. Was there much customisation needed for the cooler? Although Tank's cooler is still in decent nick, I'm always mindful that the caps tend to blow eventually and this all alloy solution seems to be the best off the shelf one, and what I'll be using when (not if) the time comes.

The intercooler just needs its protruding lugs to be cut off and then it fits directly into the space. One downside of it is that due to the increased diameter of the top pipe there is no room for the oil filler in the service flap area and it has to be removed.

I'm not 100% happy with the pipework yet. When funds allow i'll trial some better silicone pipes and reducers to replace tge jubilee clip setup I have at present.

As you can see from the top hose it protrudes quite a bit and therefore is very close to the alternator. In time I will grind the top hose back a cm or two and use a pipe with a tighter bend.

Worth noting as well is that if you are not fitting this to a tdi90 then you would have to use an inline map sensor.
