All I've got left to do now is rebuild the inside of the car and move onto the outside.. still waiting on coilovers new mounts drop links that should be here tomorrow.. its coming along nicely..

Today I replaced the engine oil, oil and air filter.
I also replaced the oil plug with EZ Oil drain valve. I bought one for my Grand Cherokee 5,7l V8 but I never mounted it. Same diameter and thred as Audi.

I also replaced the gearbox oil. Filling the oil was the tricky part, but I used a hose and let gravity do the job.

Today I had the timing belt and water pump changed by a 25 year+ time served VW master technician using genuine parts for £350 less than the quote from Audi. I appreciate it would have been £150 less if I had the skills and time to do it myself, but money well spent in my view. Very pleased with work, service and price of SVS in Dundee for anyone this far north.

Looks great Ian. Can't believe the car was so close to end of life. You've really saved this one. Dolphin grey is one of my favourite colours....next to Ipanema Brown :)

Still loads planned, it’s going to need a visit to the paint shop too at some point couple of scruffs need tidying..

Considering the state of it when I brought it I’m very happy, and even the neighbors asked what it was as they’d never seen one and couldn’t believe it’s a 14year old car..

I noticed the headlights have misted up. A couple of 10mm holes on the underside worked wonders for mine and solved any issues I had.

Yeah had them out once dried them out with the Mrs hair dryer but looks like a breather might be the solution..
