Today I.....

....(well yesterday actually) was asked what model Audi it was because they were looking to put their Civic in on the scrappage scheme and fancied an Audi :)
I am still wondering if we could talk to a very friendly Audi Dealer and put one of our best A2s in their showroom and pretend that it is a new model being launched soon.

I am absolutely convinced that people who do not recognise the A2 would genuinely want to buy it (thinking it to be a new model Audi. The OEM options etc would not look out of place (leather, panoramic sunroof, climate, air bags etc). £30 a year road tax and 60 mpg (Tdi).
I am sure that people would be genuinely interested in buying this “new model” Audi.

Wouldn’t it be great to just do this and see what the result is. It would make headline news (at least in the local papers).

OK, that is slightly different then.

It would be great if someone would offer a "Headlamp polishing service, I have tried doing this and totally ruined a pair of headlamps.

I've done it before on my previous audi and was actually thinking about doing it to some more that have fogged. I really enjoyed doing it. Perhaps if someone has some that need doing as they are so bad or a spare, i could do it to them as before and after and walkthrough?

On the ones I did there was some crap and residue inside them so i couldn't get them perfect. but if I could have split the lamps i would have been able make a better job.

How did you do that? I couldn't find the previous post.

I haven’t done a previous post. But I did it buy rubbing the lamps down with different grades of wet and dry and then working to rubbing compounds to polish and finishing with a wax.

Important to either have the lamps off or mask the body work off properly.

Well if anyone has one or a set that they can get to me for the purpose of documenting/refurbing
That they are happy to let me have a go on I’m keen.

I was thinking about offering it as a service in my apartment block. Happy to swap a trade for another also.

I've got a pair that have quite poor lenses...
You can have those to have a go at.

OK mate!

I'll pop round at some point and pick em up. I'll drop em back when they are done.

As always @Bargepower to the rescue! I'll drop you a text or DM when i'm out an about next. I think I'm on a shoot over west on friday. So will see if your about after that perhaps.

I have done this before on my old BMW. Varying grits of wet and dry and then finishing off with polishing compound and a battery drill.

I also had a company come round to do another BMW when I couldn't be bothered, they travelled the country doing it and did it exactly the same way as I did. It only took them about 30 - 45 minutes 1 person working on each headlight.

My every day A2 clicked over to 70,000 miles today - sorry no picture. Still the lowest of our three tdi’s. Cheers Mike

...I'm getting dressed up warm to go and change a rear brake caliper that's been binding on for a week (or longer) and worn one of my brake pads completely out. Wish me luck.

Took Lundgren for (not needed ironically) MOT, it wasn't due until April, but I thought no problems ... :( Handbrake cable snapped and no force going through rear brake ... So now I need to get it sorted on Monday before I sell it. I've then got somebody wanting to come and have a look on Sunday to view (not a member... yet!)

One very stuck rear brake caliper. Luckily I've got an FSI there to take one from but if that's had it, it will be a quick jaunt out to eurocarparts.
