Today I.....

@alanb Where did you source the car ramps? It looks like they winch up using a ratchet? I could make very good use of a set of those.

Hi, Steve

I think @damadgeruk is right, I think mine came from CJ Autos.. www.cjautos.eu admittedly quite expensive, but they have saved me a good amount on diy on the A2 and the Mog.

You spin them up with a 22mm socket. Best if you have a power driver to do it though as it takes a bit of time. There is a hydraulic option. I suspect faster, but dearer.

I was interested in the discussion about new undertrays in this thread as I need one for my 2003 1.6 FSI. Can anyone tell me whether the correct Audi part number for a petrol car undertray is 8Z0825235E? I have found a german website that appears to sell a genuine Audi undertray (it looks like the correct part in the picture but is referred to in the description as 'noise insulation') for only 37 Euros plus postage - seems very cheap? Thanks for any help, Clive.

Dropped boxy on coil overs... but if a mission but the stance+ kit is a good one the original suspension was shot so did top mounts and bearings new rear mounts new rubbers and all nuts and bolts whilst I was in there

This is a 40mm drop

Mind sharing the German source for the undertray? I need on for my 1.6 too!

Look good Steve. A drop like that needed wide wheel to fill the arches. Good job.

Today I learned that a Symphony one headunit won't work in my car? so I refurbed my climate control unit instead.

Took my headlight washer jets out as they were blocked up and not working very well and dumped them in a bowl with “oust” all purpose discaler and boiling water..

Worked a treat, I now have a gentle mist out of both instead of the water guns I had before.

... tested my new cruise control on the road (having tested with vagcom off road). Still to install the cruise stalk and tidy up the loom though total cost was under £20 for new stalk and loom. Also installed LED H3, pressed aluminium registration plates and my new Qi magnetic phone mount though that will likely require some fettling due to the combination of pot holes and 6.4" phone!

You want to be careful buddy. You are close enough that you might find me on your doorstep with a handful of looms, bits and a six pack at some point...

Most welcome, it's good to have (another) excuse for working on A2s. Not that I'm short of A2s needing attention (FSI).

Collected some switches, glove box and false floor from Jeremy on his travels. Switches and floor now installed, glove box and steering wheel tomorrow.

You're welcome Neil, I've just got home. It took me about 3/4 hour to get out of the services, having spent probably half an hour getting in, just hope the 2 hour limit doesn't count driving ...

Ordered four 215/45R17 Toyo T1-R's for the FSI, for £156(5%cashback too)! I thought that was pretty good (though feel free to tell me otherwise). :)
Demon tweeks had 4 for 3 and EBAYPR18 takes 10% off too.

Feeling very pleased with myself as I have finally managed to free my left hand rear seat which I had not been able to unlock since I bought the car a couple of weeks ago. I found the 'Ultimate rear seats don't work' thread and had used the advice to try to release it twice before. Finally on the third attempt with me kneeling on the seat and banging the headrest it suddenly released - result!
