Today I.....

.....got the car MOT'd. Two new track rod ends required. Not broken or excessively worn, but the rubbers had perished and apparently that's enough for a fail now.
Anyway, all sorted and received a compliment on the general condition of my A2..... "which was nice,"

Hi Andy
I just had a look at the item and the title mention A2, but further down the compatibility check says not compatible with A2. Could you confirm they are compatible?
Thanks
Thanks for pointing that out, I must admit I just saw A2 in the title and accepted that at face value without using the compatibility checker. I am still confident the calliper is suitable for an A2 and you may have noticed the seller insists on you supplying your reg so they can check before they will post out (I like that). Further today I put an old calliper next to the new and examined minutely and with my naked eyes they match perfectly. Sorry until I actually fit the calipers in the late Spring I cannot categorically confirm A2 compatibility but I am 99.9% certain the fit will be fine.

Andy

Today I fitted cruise control and a set of 15" wheels that I refurbished a few months to a members A2, the gun metal grey wheels looked very nice against the murlo red paintwork
Very nice to meet you Nod (Paul) and good luck with the mountain biking
I hope the CC made the drive 'Up North' a more comfortable affair

They ARE compatible. I bought a pair of them from the same seller in June and they are a straight swap for the originals.

Less impressed by the courtesy car though :-(

Today I....

Finished making a huge number of wiring looms for various upcoming retrofits for A2OC members. I've made 12x cruise control looms, 6x DIS looms, 2x Bose looms, 2x rear electric window looms, 3x front fog light looms, 1x A1 multifunction steering wheel loom and 1x SideGuard airbag looms.
As promised for @Special edition, @Ukie, @Away with the fairys, @Darren C, @BoxyA2, @Proghound and many others!

Admittedly not today, but very recently, I did 3x cruise control installations at once ...simultaneously. I don't know how many A2 cruise control retrofits I've done in my life, but the number of parts I've ordered over the years suggests the figure must be at about 250. Needless to say, I'm well practiced and have the process down to a fine art. However, I'd never been asked to do more than one cruise control retrofit at once, so this recent cruise control marathon answered a question; is it quicker to do the retrofits simultaneously rather than sequentially?
So, I picked up the tools needed to remove the steering wheel, and then proceeded to remove the steering wheel from every car. I then picked up the tools to remove the stereo, and then proceeded to remove the stereo from every car. Every necessary stage was repeated in this manner until all cars had cruise control.
The result... it takes almost exactly the same amount of time had I done the retrofits sequentially (completing one retrofit before starting the next). The time I save by 'batch processing' is wasted by the extra time used to walk between the cars over and over again!

I hope you've all had good, productive days! :)

Friday I found an ATL A2 of 2006 today I went to buy it but it had already been demolished. They left only a few parts between here the engine+turbo with 95000 km. Its price is 450 euros around 400 pounds. My ATL has 202,000 km. What do you recommend me I buy it?

That's an attractive colour and a good-looking car! You are saying that they have dismantled the car? The engine+turbo would certainly be worth 450 Euros, providing it does work perfectly? I don't know how you could be sure that it was working before it was dismantled, though?

Yes the car has been demolished. My doubt is how do you say it will be ok?
