Today I.....

Today I put in leather seats into the £225 Tdi which were just about the purchase price of the car

Friday I found an ATL A2 of 2006 today I went to buy it but it had already been demolished. They left only a few parts between here the engine+turbo with 95000 km. Its price is 450 euros around 400 pounds. My ATL has 202,000 km. What do you recommend me I buy it?

Was there something wrong with the car, crash history and a badly done repair job or something like that? Just seems sad that a car like that was demolished.

Today I got a call from Fontain to say that my A2 has managed to kick his fairly major oil leaking habit. Collection tomorrow morning :D

[/ QUOTE]

questa era la macchina

Well not really an A2 but it finished with a conversation about mine. Tiguan failled MOT on broken rear spring :(. Dropped off Tiguan at local Vw/audi specialist for replacement part and retest tomorrow.
Also booked A2 in for lube service, plus oil timing chain change(ouch) plus MOT for next week. Gonna be A2less and much poorer. Lol

Today I swapped my A1 Alloys for my pepperpots and on the last one I had a little problem with the locker (Hairline crack)

I managed to get it off eventually with a lump hammer and a bit of force.

This was the end result

Anyone got a spare wheel nut?

Steve

...got to see the bottom of the box of bits from my front end rebuild and staged my own version of Name That Part. Crashed out at the first round. It was the end of April when I took the car apart and my memory isn't what it used to be. Anybody care to tell me where these two bits belong?

I think I recall the wire clip went somewhere in a connector for the starter motor? As for the bracket - not a clue...

Hi Steve, I've got a spare, mail me your address and I'll post tomorrow. Cheers nod

Today I fitted cruise control and a set of 15" wheels that I refurbished a few months to a members A2, the gun metal grey wheels looked very nice against the murlo red paintwork
Very nice to meet you Nod (Paul) and good luck with the mountain biking
I hope the CC made the drive 'Up North' a more comfortable affair
Today I finally emptied five alloys, my mountain bike, camping kit and lots of soggy bike kit out of the a2. Thanks for the wheels and cc Paul. The ride is so much better in my tdi sport with the 15" instead of 17" and the 1000+ mile trip was fine with cc. Many thanks.

Today (well, actually over the last three days) I...

Fitted a double-DIN dash, mk2 RNS-E SatNav, SDS voice control, flat-bottom multifunction steering wheel and Audi Bluetooth phone integration.
On separate cars, I also exchanged two faulty CCCUs and did a cruise control retrofit.

Cheers,

So what was the straw that you fixed to un-break the camel's back?

Well It’s been off the road for almost a month while I replace two dented doors; low security post denting N/S. I’ve been gob smacked by how badly new body parts fit. Body work appears to be a series of compromises until you get a compromise you can live with. Prefer it to be better but going with the new doors.
Mechanically it’s been driveable for a little while but I have an issue with the front suspension and weak damping. I see those issues as weekend jobs rather than garaged dysfunctional.
Albert is back ?
