Very nice purchase indeed with nothing to do to them, there was a beautiful mint set last week in the birmingham region that sold on ebay with goodyear cross climates all as "brand new" and i think sold for around £450? so £112.50 per corner now seems a bargain whoever purchased them and hopefully a member on here?.
I was looking at them. However as I’ve the winters for £100 less these seemed a better option. Yes, let’s hope it was ‘one of us’.

I managed to purchase a really nice set of pepperpots this week with a set of Dunlop summer tyres https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154287920248 so I’ll be year round pepperpots on my Dolphin Grey from now on. 😊

Wow that’s a stonking deal!!!

Always best to have two sets with the correct tyres for the season if you have the space to store the spares - even I, a confirmed all-season fan (sad I know) would be the first to admit that despite the advances of the last few years, they’re still a compromise in any given weather conditions

I was grateful for my Webasto this morning, to warm up the car while I was clearing it :)

Steep downhill passable with care in 1st gear, to get down to the main road through town, which is the only one that appears to have been gritted. Probably timed it just right, as it started coming down a lot heavier on the way back. Having seen enough people struggling even before then, I opted to take a 1.5mile detour by staying on the main road to get back uphill, with it being flat all the way back home from the top.

All passed with care but without incident. But what I really wish I'd done was put my pepperpots with CrossClimates on the car some time in the last week that this snow has been forecast  Albeit with good tread as they're nearly new, all of the above was on summer tyres .

Today I...
Fitted a black leather gear knob with chrome ring to replace the bog standard plastic one on my ‘Special Edition’. Looks and feels great. Next up... find a good quality leather steering wheel...

Today I put my crossclimates to the test...
Very impressed... especially when the Ford focus’ are going sideways... 😂
Today I had a little snowy adventure too. I couldn't agree more about the value of all season tyres, I usually get cross climates but the price at the time I needed them was just a bit too high so I plumped for some Hankook Kinergy 4S2 which have been fantastic, just not quite as comfortable as the Michelins.

Today I noticed that my cigarette socket, asr button, light switch and heated seat controls glow red with the door locked.

Is that normal and is there a single fuse that I can pull to stop that drain?

Hmmm. I see that those systems are on four separate fuses so unless the leds are on a single separate circuit pulling a fuse isn’t workable.

Is this a normal feature? Why would the leds stay on all the time?

not normal, and only because the lights are seen to be on. Is the headlight switch in correctly?

Did you leave the lights switched on by accident. Pretty sure if you had left the indicator selected for parking lights that would not switch on and dash illumination.

I just popped out to see if it had settled after a period of time but, no, they are all still lit.

The headlight is turned to ‘off’ not even auto. I moved it to auto and the same. .

The alarm set led appears to be flashing every 2 seconds. I don’t recall it being so fast either...

What is happening? Is this a CCCC issue?

Could be a CCCU issue. First disconnect both battery terminals and do a reboot. Touch the two now disconnected battery LEADS together for about 5 seconds, then reconnect them to the battery ensuring they are tight. Also check the block to the left of the positive terminal is secure to the positive clamp and all the internal connections inside the block are tight and not corroded. While at the battery check for water. Next raise the passenger carpet and get to the CCCU /ECU compartment under the floor, again check nice and dry. Could be wet due to monkeys incorrectly jacking the car and puncturing the floor or rain water leaking in from the door seals etc. If damp dry everything out. disconnect and reconnect the connectors on the CCCU a few times to wipe the contacts again check for water or signs of burning due to arcing or shorting.
Check fuses 36, 38 and 42 with a meter.
Have a VCDS scan done to see if that highlights anything.

Thank you. The car is at the garage now for the brakes and coolant leak (that I failed to fix ) but I’ll give these a try next week when I (hopefully) get it back.

Received this perfectly packaged box of pepperpot centre caps! Thanks @chrisd for your help. You are total star. Once I’ve refurbed the surplus ones will be offered for sale in the market place at cost price. 😊

Replaced the 17s on my A2 with a lovely set of pepperpots. I am very impressed with the improvement in ride quality.

Hopefully someone will be interested in the old wheels, a previous owner made sure they were intimately acquainted with a variety of different kerbs  thanksfully the new rims look pretty good.

undo edit: it was right in the first place

I find it so strange the A2 never came with Pepper pots from new - they look so right on the A2 and yet so wrong on the A3 that they were actually supplied on!

I completely agree, they seem to be perfect for an A2.

I just went a quick run to check they were balanced and was gobsmaked by the difference in the car. Gone was the rattly ride, all the little bumps were ironed out.

Couldn’t agree with you more. I’ve learned to love the look of them but the difference in the ride has transformed my dolphin grey one which is on sport suspension.
