The bead breaking was what has put me off for life. Failed with a hammer, a pry and a sledge hammer! The bottle jack, wood lengths and rope were used to make a DIY hydraulic gouge to force the rubber off the metal. Last fitter had used bead seal. It was scary and hard as hell!
Like I said, more power to you for doing it.
