Today I.....

This was us mid way to the 2019 Scottish social - MK to Carlisle. Four on board and fully loaded boot. I don't expect the accuracy to be bob on either, but I was happy enough to pretend otherwise in my FSI.

My DIS currently has an average of 48.5.mpg.
This included driving to Brum, for the Early Season Meal, where the 100+ miles home took a little over 2 hours, so like Andy, definitely not restrained!
Mac.

In the UK, a few times this week already showing +15 during daytime, I reckon most already changed back to summer tyres around here, especially around South UK. In a couple of weeks the weather should turn warmer over there as well, unless you leave up North.
we currently have around 25cm of snow still lying. We are around 400km north of Helsinki now...

After 80 miles it was showing 55.1 mpg but I was not going to get off the M4 just to take a picture. Left the M4 shortly after and it started to come down and 52.something at the halfway point. No rear seats on board, wonder if this was 1 mpg. Chose a more scenic but less friendly mpg route home carrying a load of a few kg to end up with the 51.4 mpg.

Today I jet washed the A2 and accidentally pushed in some of the weather strip around the front windscreen!
Is this easy to pull out and put back in properly or have I caused catastrophic damage??
Phil.

My home run from Fort Dunlop was M6/M40/A34/M4/A33, so manifold flaps down most of the time 😁
Just me and an overnight bag though.
Mac.

I’ll not embarrass myself by declaring how long I spent pampering the exterior of the A2 today, other than to say a few meals came and went. 😁 Is it show season yet?! πŸ˜‹

In all seriousness, it was a gorgeous day today and I made the most of a half days leave.

This car has had a lotta lotta love lavished on it ..well done Darren ...I will have to see it in the flesh one day ..I know we should not have favourites but this would take some beating in my opinion ..πŸ€—

Much too kind Paul, though immensely appreciated mate. You’ve had some belters and others have great cars too with more originality than mine. I’ve invested financially, poured my heart and soul into it, suffered many frustrations and setbacks to get it where it is - though I still find things I’m not happy with or that need doing. The reality is I want to buy a new one, only I can’t, so I’ve tried to get this one as fresh as I can. 😁

Today i, and Darren C, paid a visit to Kleynies home in Staines for some much needed OSS TLC. The weather was kind to us and the hospitality was very kind. A thoroughly professional service which i would highly recommend to anyone wanting a working open sky. The added bonus is that the intermittent occasional tapping sound from under the drivers side dash, when the open sky was open, has now gone although we dont know why. A badly fitted windscreen didnt help but all went very well and i now have an upgraded working OSS.

A big thankyou to the Kleynie family for today.... very much appreciated.

I totally echo Dave's comments. Today was fantastic from beginning to end. The Kleyn family are genuinely lovely people. It was fantastic to watch brother and sister work so well together, with supervision from dad (Ian). Kristina was an equally fabulous hostess and looked after us both with such kindness. The job executed with precision and care, both Adam and Georgia (I hope I've spelt this right) worked diligently, tweaking as necessary to secure the best finish possible.

The work that goes into repairing the exchange roof in advance of any visit, the sourcing of stronger and better engineered brackets, plus the time and care on the day, really demonstrates what good value this fix is. It is also undertaken in a manner that is typical of the type of community spirit that epitomises A2 enthusiasts. Cap very much doffed in full respect @Kleynie and family.

Great to journey to and from Staines with Dave and to spend the last day and a bit in his company too. Brilliant to see him so pleased having a working OSS once again in Ethel, his beautiful red colour storm, TDI90.

Zoom in on the nearside door and you can see the grain in the fence πŸ˜‚πŸ‘. One clean, mean dream machine.

Today I went for a walk with the family and the relatives over from France. Came across an A2 TDI in White Coppice, near Chorley, Lancashire.
