But infinitely more versatile, interesting and considerably cheaper!Certainly makes a very strong case as an EV alternative doesn’t it? Very shrewd of you to buy it when you did.

Our only 4 wheeled vehicles are A2s as we sold the fiat 500c which means there is space for another A2, so can everyone please stop posting "spotted" A2s so we are not tempted please
A step in the right directionGot my string, ruler and axle stands out and adjusted the wheel alignment, time will tell but i am quietly confident!
I would be interested in how this is done.Got my string, ruler and axle stands out and adjusted the wheel alignment, time will tell but i am quietly confident!

Beat me too it Stan ... I prefer to do my own tracking this way and allows me to tinker until I get the steering wheel dead straight without the car veering to one side ... gave up on paying for it after being told that your car is supposed to steer towards the kerbLike this ?
Great job Birty, what did you use to do the masking on the switches? ... this is another job on my to do list ... all the best, TomSo a couple of jobs today. Managed to get my copy of VCDS Lite working properly by tweaking the latency of the driver, now able to scan the HVAC and get the G263 error, doh. Otherwise all clear.
Both rear wheels off to have a good look at the rear brakes/axle. Gave it a bit of a clean up getting rid of the loose rust. Rear springs have been changed which is good, but shocks and brakes (drums) all look like original and pretty rusty. No sign of leaks but I think I might replace the shocks as the bump stops look pretty ropy to me. Gave the break lines and nipples a good spray with WD40 to start the process of hopefully freeing them up. I’m thinking I should perhaps overhaul the rear brakes over the summer.
And finally a bit of a vanity item, I refurbished the drivers window switches, cleaning off the soft touch, or what was left of it!
Pretty happy with the results.

Ah confession time, ‘refurbish’ on these was limited to cleaning off the soft touch paint off the main plate and fitting a couple of new hard touch switches, so a bit light weight!Great job Birty, what did you use to do the masking on the switches? ... this is another job on my to do list ... all the best, Tom
Finished off fitting the JOM coilover kit. Needed to fit longer bolts in the rear spring adjusters and fit the shorter "bmw" front drop links.
I've left it on minimum on the rear and about 10mm clear thread on the front until the springs settle and then I will check it over. Over christmas I decided to leave my current position and its 400 mile a week commute, so the mileage will drop massively.
The ride is a little firmer than the ones that were removed but not uncomfortably so, the ride is better than I had expected considering the full kit was under £170! The kit looks like its made in Germany and isnt really cheap looking, Took me about 5 hours for the whole job. The worst part was the rear arch liners caked in mud from the lane where the workshop is. Rear lower spring rubbers were shot but no longer required.View attachment 60177
Unfortunately eBay car parts has failed more on me than it'd be ideal, so I recommend to buy your car parts from eurocar, autodoc, tps, etc.Could I ask what drop links did you use, I see you mention ‘ me’ ones?
I’ve fitted adjustable ones from eBay and I’m still getting knocking from the ARB and one has popped from the ball joint already so not up to the job
