Today I.....

I guess my A2 is green now.
I know I'd wash it a bit more often, but I don't want just pulling it out. I guess I'll wait till its bigger and re-plant it :/

Today is my first full day with a complete set of Bilstein B6 shocks on my A2 (I collected the car from the garage, with a new MOT as well as the shocks, yesterday).

I purchased the full set of shocks in January 2019, but Bilstein were not able to supply the correct front shocks until July 2021, and it's only just been practical to get them swapped over. I've certainly not been disappointed with the quality of the ride since the change, running on standard springs.

Take care removing. I also had some moss on the centre strip, the one that's coloured, and ended up removing a small amount of paint from the strip.

Replace the track rod ends, and (unless they've been done recently) it's worth replacing the steering rack boot covers at the same time.

Lemforder are fine, I've just gone with Meyle as a good quality alternative. The track rod ends are handed, so make sure you get one of each, ideally by purchasing as a pair.
Thanks Steve. Can the rack boot covers be changed without removing the rack?

Yes, they can. You do need to remove the track rod ends, but of course you will be.

I went with Febi 21700 for the boots, around £10 each, plus you'll need new clips to hold them in place.

Today my current A2 tdi silver car met my original tdi A2

At just under twice the miles on the blue A2 as my current A2 the blue one is still holding up very well indeed and is now just 800 miles shy of 300,000 miles
It was a condition of sale that the current owner would let me know when it was about to clock 300k miles and ideally I would be in the car to see it move from 299,999 to 300,000
The time is coming

This car is on the original engine which has had no work other than a thermostat and numerous timing belts and water pumps and a clutch at 272200 when I bought it

Incredible car

Picked up a nice set of se cloth seats with two lovely upgrades Heat and Lumbar.
I have had a few heated seats in the past but none of them have lumbar support so I’m very chuffed with my buy.

Also matching heater control panel with rollers, mud flaps and heated mirrors.

What pattern is this called?

Today I accept winter is on he way and as such the pepperpot wheels with Michelin cross climates on the front are on. Also replaced the Bush that sits at the bottom of the rear spring. Should have done it at the same time as the springs but unwittingly only ordered one.
