They were never for sale in the UK and only available in LHD. Sorry I don't know how much as Rob hadn't prepped an ad when I saw it.

Ehhh, no. The gray one had a broken spring and the sidemirror did not "retract" inwards when pushed - corroded?. The red one needed new brake pads in the front, and the handbrake hanged on a bit to well on the breakes after released. So all in all, a fairly godd MOT for both A2's.
And a curiosity, just flicked thru some car adds and found this beautiful Merc 600. Funny thing is that an A2 is parked behind it :)

And a Beetle to the right ... Now THAT is awesome

Had my broken front exhaust flexi changed on my tdi 75 sport by longlife exhausts today. £150 all in for a new flexi in stainless welded in. She's back to being quieter again now. Then service 1000 miles popped up on display when i got home.

Today, well actually, yesterday I took the spare headlights (bought a year ago) and gave them a thorough clean and polish. They were already in very good order, baring one significant stone chip. A careful application of cutting polish, love and attention, and the imperfection has been made good, as good as it can be without aggressive repair work.

The final coats of polish have brought them up great. Sidelights and chrome indicator bulbs transferred, Osram Night Breaker Lazers arrived today. Just need to fit these and replace the headlight units ready for tomorrow’s MOT retest. HID wires safely tucked out of the way and protected from the elements. The old units, which were exchange HID units, must have been off a car with significant mileage due to the sandblasted lenses. Really pleased with the end product.

They look amazing, well done.

Have you put on a coating to protect them from UV etc.? I believ this is necessary to keep them in this condition.

Cheers Steve. I have some in the garage. To be honest, apart from the one lens using cutting compound in a controlled way (very small area), I haven’t taken the top coat off. The polish I used primarily wasn’t a cutting compound and will provide enough protection, which I’ll reapply every couple of washes going forward.

OK, that is slightly different then.

It would be great if someone would offer a "Headlamp polishing service, I have tried doing this and totally ruined a pair of headlamps.
