Just noticed that my A2's studded winter tires are size 185/65 R 15" , which has 30mm bigger diameter than 185/50 R16. The tires are Nokian Hakkapeliitta 5's
The previous owner told me he had used the tires for last winter, so apparently they don't rub. I didn't notice any stud scrapes in she wheel liners...
I'm amazed by the diameter of the tires, and may swap them to my Skoda Roomster which has much larger wheel arches and 195/55 R15 studded tires. The cars share the same PCD so it's easy to try them on.
Just to let you know that it's possible to use that size too, but maybe not recommendable. Tires are legal in finland as long as the diameter stays within +50mm from original size.
