Today I.....

Today I upgraded my non illuminated vanity mirrors. SE parts courtesy of A2Steve. It helps keep the other half happy with money spent on mods I make to the car! I was a little apprehensive on cutting the headlining for the lights but it proved very easy.

Hi

Pressed steel arms are on my list to be replaced , any tips ....

Um - unbolt outboard ball joint, undo anti-roll bar clamp and tie roll bar up out of the way. Undo forward pivot bolt and then four bolts holding subframe on - wishbone will then pull out with subframe. Push wishbone out of rear bush - I used a two beam puller but it comes out fairly easily, use a G clamp to pull new wishbone into rear bush. Clean and then lube subframe holes so that the alignment pins slide easily, fit subframe and wishbone assembly back in - fit two alignment pins and tighten two other subframe bolts, pull out one alignment pin and fit another bolt then second pin and final bolt. Tighten forward bolt and outboard ball joint and re-fit anti roll bar clamp. Note I had no issues with seized / stripped bolts but others have had this so worth spraying some penetrating fluid wherever possible before you start.

Simon.

Today I did some paint testing.

Morning all,

Earlier this morning my clutch totally gave up. I’ve known it’s been waiting to give up for about 20k miles and had it booked into a Mr Clutch at this end of this month.

I now have to get it towed to a local garage and hope they don’t over charge me.

Moral of the story, don’t delay/postpone something you knew about some time ago.

Kind regards,

Tom

Today I had my air conditioning pressure checked and re gassed. All good and now ice cold. Also relaced the ABS sensor I destroyed the other day. Good days tinkering.

What happened?

Removed, stripped, cleaned, lubed, refitted, manual test ok, motor reconnected, tested ok... worked 4/5 times then Jammed open.. removed stripped all back together refit over tighten bolt.. rear panel BOOM..

Roof no longer works and I’ve a broken glass panel ???..

Did you replace any parts? This is exactly what happened to us until I bit the bullit and replaced the guides and all the plastic parts. It’s still working (as I touch wood), but it took three attempts. I now know what to replace next time.

No everything moved freely it’s now being classed as a ROOF WINDOW.. luckily this great forum I’ve secured a glass panel within 30mins of posting RESULT..

I assume it was the rear of the two panels that move that you broke as the very front and rear glass panels in the OSS are bonded to the frame and therefore near impossible to change them

No they are not, they are an easy change once the roof is out.
