Today I.....

Well today i had an MOT booked for the colour storm-last year i almost didn't make audis in the park as i had forgotten the mot so i had it done the day before the show !
As usual i let her warm up and took her for an italian tune up gave the brakes a good work out before going to the test centre -- emissions pass with ease-then the brake test, all good. Lights and mechanicals all clear and no advisories.
So thats now all three A2's done and no advisories. phew - Just reminds us just what great cars these little audis that some refer to as "not a proper audi"

Not sure this is what the Mrs meant when she asked me to put something on the washing line..

Today I found out why the OSS doesn’t work..... it was unplugged. Once plugged in the front section lifts about 5mm then the motor starts slipping. Closes and motor slips.
Any advice on where to start would be appreciated guys!

That is why the previous owner disconnected it. To prevent it from failing totally an getting stuck open.

Repairs are not a DIY option.
Ian (Klynie) is looking at offering a repair service but it takes specialist skills and he is mastering them st the moment.

Oh still in training? Lol. I thought he was the OSS Guru. Not desperate to get it fixed as have my car to concentrate on. Maybe visit him once he is fully trained!!

Not Still in training at all, just perfecting the process.

It is quite a task and he and Adam and making great strides into providing a repair service which will be invaluable to our members.

They just want to do a proper job, hats off to them.

Spotted a lovely Burgundy (not sure if it was Castle red, I only got a glimpse) A2 with matching colour coded Center caps near to the A5. I was in a red colour storm, my wife said you flashed but she was a little slow to wave :)

Today my temperature gauge stopped going past the first mark. With this weather and a thermostat that's less than 1 year/5000 miles old, is it safe to assume that the temperature sender is at fault?

Probably but may be worth changing both while you are losing some coolant doing the sender.

Even if it was 33 degrees out there that probably matches the first mark or so and so it just MIGHT be showing the actual temperature/. But it is more likely to be the sender.

Firstly, try just to move a little bit the temp sender connector. It is ideal to disconnect and reconnect it but due to poor access try at least to move it. In my case it probably was bad contact and after doing this temp back to normal and there is no error with VCDS.

Search it on the right side behind the engine block.

(Yesterday I).. handed over our half-finished island green 1.4i project to my other half replacing her Citigo, then followed her in my A2 to make sure that the new expansion tank lid was working. I figured that after I'd given it a slow then fast test drive without issue, if it was going to blow she'd find a way (she has rather heavy feet!). Luckily when we got there there were no warning lights and the tank was still at the level where I'd left it, so I'm reasonably confident it'll be fine. The best bit is that she loves it! Just need to get the front suspension refresh (shocks, springs, ARB bushes, drop links, strut bearings) fitted now...

Today I set my alarm for 03:15 next Tuesday. Will be driving my A2 down to Infinity Exhausts (just outside Bristol) to have a complete new stainless exhaust system fitted.

Steve, if you don’t mind me asking, is that a full system & what sort of price are they charging you?
